Africa

.....and more.........

This country was colonized by Portugal since the XVI century until the middle of the XX century. John Reader narrates, in his book Africa, that when World War II ended many European nations started to give the independence to their colonies in the black continent, but Portugal stayed them with the justification that were sea provinces. That made a race for the independence of Mozambique that started in 1962 when several political groups formed a Front for the Liberation of Mozambique, which started one military campaign against the Portuguese government in September 1964. Ten years of battles and political changes in Portugal, made Mozambique obtained the triumph the 25 of June on 1975.
Its name come from the Portuguese Moçambique, which makes reference to the pronunciation of the name of the Arab governor before the Portuguese conquered that land. Its name was Xeique Mussa Ben Mbiki.
Mozambique is a country that had a good style of living during a period but now a day it is a poor country with several inner conflicts. Its currency is much devaluated. It has a severe inflation. It has many problems, and the average life is low but the people still have a smile, those eyes that have hope that one day they will come out and start being a place for opportunities for all people of Africa. In their face you can see the hope that one day they can be a wonderful nation for everybody.
