Stress Free

Stress is a feeling created when we react to certain events, which are preparing the body to meet a tough situation. Stress a feeling well known to all people around the world, whether it is because of work, cannot do something you want, etc. Students in TEC feel stress 24/7, because of homework, quizzes, partial exams, final projects, etc. All this is very hard work homework never stop coming in is something we have every single day; partial exams are evaluations of what we have seen through the whole month and the last one is the evaluation of the whole semester, imagine having to study for an exam that contains information of 4 months, it’s a lot of information which causes pressure which causes stress.

Some signs that you have stress are: anxiety or panic attacks, feeling constantly pressured, stomach problems, headaches, chest pain, problems sleeping (which is the most common symptom), depression, drinking to much (believe it or not) , overeating

and other people just get very angry.

There are also ways in which you can avoid being stressed and when stressed become relaxed: getting a good night’s sleep, do not overscheduled (too much things in your agenda can provoke pressure), learn to relax by breathing slowly, exercise, be optimist.

As we can see we live stress every day of our lives, but there are also ways in which we can prevent it and help ourselves relax. Live your life stress free.

Stress vs. Society

This weekend I had tons of homework; consequently, I had a lot of stress; but stress? What is it useful for? I have several two theories about it. The first one is that it just something that a person has when he/she is worried about something and it just functions as something negative because If someone stresses a lot he/she would have problems with his body; Therefore it is important to control stress and try to get rid of it. My second theory is most likely the same, but the difference is that with stress, for example: I can make thing better and faster, because I’m worried about something, then I worked more efficient.

I heard once, that stress was going to be the biggest problem in the world (besides obesity), but what really caught my attention was that stress was going to be the biggest factor of suicides, and I was like: Noooo! Because I suffer from stress, and now I understand that we have to have a balance between stress and freedom. There are several ways to calm down your nerves & stress. I think this is quite important to society because everyone knows that we have to take care about our body, what we eat and all that, but almost nobody knows that we also have to take care about our mind and our mental problems such as stress. Which is a really huge problem for the next years. We have to learn how to manage our stress and if not; we will loose our heads...

Procrastination

Procrastination in a scientific definition refers to the counterproductive deferment of actions or tasks to a later time. Psychologists often cite such behavior as a mechanism for coping with the anxiety associated with starting or completing any task or decision. There are three criteria for a behavior to be classified as procrastination: it must be counterproductive, needless, and delaying.

Procrastination may result in stress, a sense of guilt and crisis, severe loss of personal productivity, as well as societal disapproval for not meeting responsibilities or commitments. These feelings combined may promote further procrastination. While it is regarded as normal for people to procrastinate to some degree, it becomes a problem when it impedes normal functioning.

Procrastination may sound like a simple behavior or character flaw that is easy to overcome but it is anything but simple. Procrastination is the act of postponing, delaying or pushing back something that can be done now or soon to a later date or never.

Procrastination is quite complex. It involves emotions, skills, thoughts, attitudes, and many other factors that we are not conscious of. It is through the inner tuning of our minds that we react or act in this way. On top of that, the unpleasantness of one task varies from one person to another.

For example, right now I don't now what can I write, and that is a type of procrastination because I am closed and blocked and I have the lack of inspiration but I am trying my hardest to write a blog about anything.

SCHOOL STRESS

Us as students, we experience stress almost everyday, but why? HOMEWORKS, PROJECTS, ASSIGNMENTS, AND SO MUCH MORE! School work is probably the highest stress a student has to deal with. Throughout the years, I've learned that stress is mental, if you just relax yourself, organize yourself and to everything on time, you don't necessary have to deal with stress. But sometimes, stress seems to be uncontrollable, for example, when a teacher sends loads od homework to do at the last minute. A person needs to learn how to deal with stress, not to mention stress causes wrinkles and small, annoying break outs on skin. What I suggest doing is always organizing yourself, with a planner or an agenda. Write assignments with its dates on its particular order, and find time to do them before the last time, not one day, hour, minute before the due date. When your stress levels are too high, it might seem there is not time to rest, but that is all you need. You need to relax, breathe in deep, listen to music or do something you like that can keep you from thinking about stress. When you feel totally relaxed, come back and do your work, you will see that ideas, thoughts, everything will come to you quicker when you are not just thinking about stress. Stress sometimes makes you do things wrong, so why do we stress on our work if we know things are going to come out wrong? We need to be responsible instead, always doing things with time, not stressing ourselves at the last minute. This way, why would you have to worry about ever dealing stress? Relax and organize yourself and time will be enough for you to complete your assignments successfully.
