Couple on South Korea raised a virtual kid and forgot about their real baby

Yesterday I saw in the news something that leaved me really impressed and sad at the same time. I read on the newspaper that a couple somewhere in South Korea start raising a virtual child in a videogame or something related. They start getting very deeply in the virtual game that they forgot to care about their real kid and the poor baby died.

The couple fed their 3-month-old daughter once a day between marathon stretches in a local Internet cafe, where they were raising a virtual child in the fantasy role-playing game Prius Online.

“Police said the couple had lost their jobs and used the game as an escape from reality, especially after the birth of their premature baby” according the note I saw on the newspaper.

This is an example of how a vicious can lead to disaster, to lost something we really want, and because we are doing something else we do not notice. This case was a completely tragedy, but is also an example of how technology is controlling us even more with the years.

Of course this couple must have a serious stress problem and maybe they were trying to escape from their real life that maybe in that moment was difficult, but that is not a justification for stop taking care a 3-month baby, they obviously have some biggest problems in their minds.

Respecting different point's of view

As humans, we all have beliefs and several times our way of thinking make us feel that we belong to a place or an especific group of people.

Most of the time, when we realize that we are not agree with someone, we decide to have less comunication with those you are not agree with; most of us just want to avoid argues; we don't want to have weird conversations about topics in which we can get mad while we talk.

I really hate when there's a division because people are in a different political party in a city, or at school, when you are supporting a candidate to be the queen, or an specific "planilla".

I think that when we are not 100% mature to carry with these situations, is when all these problems become visible, and we should try to understand that every person has an opinion, a way of seeing things, and even if you'd tried to change it, it would be very difficult; It would be more difficult if the person has a strong criteria or a strong faith that won't let them change his or her mind.

We also should try to listen to other people's opinion because it is a way to learn about different cultures, personalities and values and those factors can make our opinion even richer.

We shouldn't let others change our point of view, we should be strong and respect other's opinions.

It is great to have diversity of ideas and concepts, that would make us a tolerant person that will be able to respect different things.

Culture

In the activity in which you gave us to choose 5 options there was one, the one I choose, about Culture. I agreed with all except for the part in which it said that in actual times, culture does not evolve.

I highly disagree with that concept because all of the cultures change or in other words evolves. Our culture is not the same of 100 years ago so the culture does change, not completely but it does.

And at first I agreed with the comment but when I gave it a deeper though I realized that. It is also interesting how does the concept of culture changes, going from a form of agricultur information to a more complex concept that include many aspects of life.

It was interesting also the part that said about the social classes, in some way is true, you have to have money in order to learn somethings but also the statement is false because you are learning culture since you are born because you see your parents and often imitate what they are doing. I think that in a future the concept of culture will change because it has changed through time, so who knows what the concept will include or delete in some years.
