Paying for our foolishness

I know that lately the water scarcity problem that hermosillo faces is a VERY common topic, so i'll state my point of view.

I really hate it when people get mad for not having water, and then they start blamming all of it on the government. Accusing them from being inneficient and that this water scarcity is all their fault. I know their frustration, but please, instead of screaming and yelling unconscious and unprofessional words, I really want you to think what did you do with your water before this happened.

Lets face it people, this water scarcity problem is all OUR FAULT, not the government's fault, well maybe, but anyways we chose this government so it is mainly OUR fault.

We were the ones who bathe our car with loads of water, we were the ones who showered for an hour a day, and we were the ones who didn't take the time to fill a cup of water instead of letting the water flow when brushing our teeth.

We are the only ones to blame, and thanks to this we are now getting what we really deserve, a "tandeo" .

Northern Hermosillo stinks

A couple of days ago we all habitants of Hermosillo were warned that for 2 days we would have no water in our houses. So everyone started to prepare for this shortage, so they began filling their “tinacos” and “cisternas” so people wouldn’t run out of water. So it got me thinking: “Why the hell does this happens?” and I wonder if it’s because we are really running out of water or there is another reason to this. I remember last year, we had the same problem, through this time of the year, and there was one the day that there was no water, and all of a sudden the governor solve the problem. So finally I came to the conclusion that all of this may be a publicity stunt for the government or just some kind of arrangement with the “tinacos “ and “cisternas” sellers; because, if you pay close attention, you realize that those kind of sellers won a lot last year so they did this year selling their product. So I’m still thinking of that issue, and I think that it is kind of both a publicity stunt and a arrangement between seller and government.

TANDEO

What do you think of when I say WATER? probably in the same thing I do "lack of water" and if you live in Hermosillo in TANDEO.
Water is a big issue in the world, no country has enought water for its people, exept maybe for Canada, and even they know water is a limited resource.
So, how does this affects me directly? well, in my particular case it doesn´t affects me that much because I have a tinaco, but it still changes some things like that we can only do our laundry in the afternoons (when the sun is really HOT!!!), the same goes for the dishes and my little garden isn´t that nice anymore. But to others it affects them even more because they don´t have tinacos and they have to adapt their shedules to their water hours, like for instance if the boy was used to shower himself in the mornings now he has to do it in the night and vice-versa.
Since we have no big water supplies near the city there is no other option than to rationalize water at the moment.
Maybe the real solution for us is to build a desaladora. The problem is that we also don´t have money to build one; then for Hermosillo´s people at this moment there no other choice than to adapt.

NO TO THE TANDEO!!!!!

I am veeeeeeeeerry disappointed with our municipality. I had never in my life experienced what is the “tandeo” because in the neighborhood where I live we had NEVER have the lack of water. But this morning, at 9 o’clock, THERE WAS NO WATER AT HOME!!! I tried to get into the shower because I needed to go to Samantha’s house to do our math guide and I couldn’t take a shower. I never go out of my house without showering first. I was very, very, VERY EXTREMELY mad!!
Water in my neighborhood was never lacking because we have a special service. I really don’t know what happened today. This is not fair! And what about our representative’s house? Do you think that the tandeo also affects him? I don’t think so… and don’t you see all the leakages all around the city? Instead of implementing this tandeo stuff, the government should do something to repair those leakages!!
Instead, all we need to do in order for the tandeos to stop being implemented is to START BEING CONSCIOUS OF OUT WATER SCARCITY!

We are running out of water

As we know, the scarcity of water in the world is a big problem, i’m going to focus on the one in Sonora. In the past years, this problem have become worst. More of 10 of the 72 municipalities of Sonora suffer of a extreme scarcity of water, what, in some way, changes the way people act. Since a long time ago, we’ve been digging wells to take out water from the subsoil, but we are running out of that water too.

As we are having problems with water, it is been control really well. That’s why “TANDEO” started. People is not conscious of the big problem we are having and they use it as if it is forever. That’s why I think that one of the solutiones and actions (the tandeos) it will have positive results because with this way of life, people it’s starting to realize that water is not forever and is taking care of it, trying to use less, to shower faster. What we need to save the planet is this kind of actions and actitud. We need this way of thinking, this way of living...looking foward to see a better world, to save the planet. What do we need? .. This way of life, of caring about our planet, should be taught to our generation and the ones coming.
Here is an interesting video about it:

Water rationing?

An important problem that we have been facing in Hermosillo is the water rationing. Although our state has ocean we don’t have the technology to use saltwater, so water is scarce due to the lack of rain. The government to solve this problem has come with the idea of water rationing.

I think that this is a bad idea because the only moment when people don’t use water is in the night, and in some parts of the city they do this water rationing at night. Also, I think that this is a bad idea because people get prepared with water before they ration it, so they use the same amount of water. In the only case that I would be in favor with water rationing is when there are licks, and water is being misused. Besides, I don’t think thayt this is an alternative that could work. They should get new ideas, maybe they could get alliances with other states to give them water.

Looking For Water

Had the future already reached us? This is a question I always ask when I forget that at 11 p.m. I don't have water anymore at home at that hour. The cistern of my house isn't woriking so well, so I have to watch out the clock and be sure to finish all the things I have to do with water before 11 p.m. reaches me. That's when I started really appreciating this valuable resource. Do we always have to loss something in order to appreciate it? I think the answer is yes, especially vital resources that have a lot of uses. I really miss the times when I always count on water to be there for me whenever I want. Sadly, the mistreatment of it and the location of this city doesn't help the situation. It's really uncomfrtable to really go this extent. I think that the previous authorities didn't really think of this issue, and now it's very easy to them to apply this measurements so everyone can have access to it. Can the lack of rains in this little city be related to the whole global warming issue out there? Maybe it is. This can only be the beginning of the climate change chaos, if we continue on the same path. And, I can recall, we depend hugely in this resource. But, can we do something to help the situation or do we have to wait for the government to do something? I think that at least we can treat better this type of vital resources. Just use the quantity that is needed. There are some tips we can all follow. For example, water the plants and grass at night avoids the water from being evaporated so quickly, especially with the intense heat we get in the summer. Another problem I found is that if we only get from 6-14 hours of water a day, should we pay less for it? I think that no. I always have thought that electricity costs are very high compared to the cheap facture we receive of the water. I think we should pay it backwards. Water is clearly more important than electricity. First of all, we can live without it! Electricity has also its importance, but let's wait some time in order to see our priorities with the effects this will cause. Also, the city of Hermosillo is growing very quickly. How can we assure this resource if the city is expanding each day? Not only the goverment should do something, even though they "promised" water; but we, as part of this community, beware of the use we give to the water. We souldn't play with nature. I hope we don't finish buying bottled water to take a bath, watch dishes, water plants, personal hygiene, etc.

"The Scarcity of Water" is affecting Hermosillo

It’s very important to know that Hermosillo is having terrible problems with the “Scarcity of Water” . It is consider the biggest and worst crisis in the country. (this was said by: the CNA’S director). The plan that they imposed, it’s only for three years. They spend approximately 200 millions of pesos, but even though that it has been a great amount of money; the result wasn’t for such a long time.

They have said that the solution to this problem is: by getting more wells or by constructing a desalination plant. But we have heard these solutions for years and unfortunately we don’t have enough money to make such things.

So, we are really living a crisis, and even though we have been affected by the economic crisis, we can see that Hermosillo is suffering great consequences by not having the enough water to live. If some of us are having insignificant problems with water, imagine the people that don’t even have a drop to drink or clean themselves.
