The Giver

My favorite book is called the giver. It’s about a world where everything is null. There are no feelings, no pains, no colors, etc. you find out in the book that all of this was because of the government. Since you were born your whole life was planned out. All the families were the same; they consisted of a mom, a dad, a boy and a girl. The main character in this story is named Jonas. The story starts when he finds out that his destiny was to be “the receiver of memory”. A receiver of what? Of all the things in life they lacked for example Jonas learns what: love, sadness, to feel cold, to get burned with fire, he even learns to see colors. He sees the unfairness it was to keep these entire things away from the people, so he looks for ways to open their eyes and watch reality. What this society was “sameness” and they chose 1 person that would keep the memory of all those things so they wouldn’t get lost. The people in this world are okay with their life because they don’t know what they are missing off, and Jonas fronts the dilemma of: shall he do something about it or leave everyone as they are?

2012? just another obstacle..

Rumors come and go, but eventually turn people into chaotic attitudes. Truly we are not taking care of our planet, and we are being quiet ignorant of the situation (general talking, not everyone of course). We say that we want to do something about the environment, but as far as I see it, we are still using toxic chemicals, fossil fuels, biodegradables products, etc. maybe some people have stop using many Toxic products, but “some” people aren’t going to save the whole planet. We need for everyone to contribute at saving mother earth.
People are panicking because they see how many natural disasters and taking over us. Many statistics say that the end of the world will come in 2012, but so many statistics said the end of the world would be in the 2000, sound familiar? And yet here we are. We are smart enough to find ways to survive, and with the advance of technology we will most definitely do so. But we must stop being so careless about the situation. We are given the opportunity to live, so let’s be the best we can be. Let’s not ruin our future generations land.
So if you ask me, do you think we will survive? i say, with all do respect, hell yes. we are capable of changing our bad habits, we are capable of transforming people, but it is all in our hands. lets no let silly futuristic rumors affect us before anything happens.

The electronic vote

I participated in the debate that IFE organized. My posture was against the electronic vote. I found it really interesting, and thankfully I agreed with my posture. There are a couple of reasons that Mexico shouldn’t have electronic vote. For example, first Mexico isn’t ready for such a big impact of technology because more than 60% of the population doesn’t even know anything about computers. The electronic vote only benefits people of middle and high class and that is less of population. Another problem for this is that it would be secure anymore because the personal information of everyone would be also in the system; any good hacker could be able to find people´s address and telephone number just by looking at his name. Another reason why I am against is because we shouldn’t experiment with Mexico, if other more developed countries aren’t ready, so isn’t Mexico. My opponent mentioned “the benefit for the electronic vote is that it well be faster and more economical”. My response is, is the acceleration of this a true necessity or just a reflection of the “vida acelerada”. Good things take time, we must use the time we need to make decision so important. Another thing is that we can’t leave big NATIONAL decisions in hands of Mr. Technology, because we must remember that they are depended to light current, what if one day there was no electricity? What would happen to the votes? And what is magically there is a mistake in the counting, what will we say? The machine counted wrong? I don’t think so.

Being a tec student.. (i remind you this is JUST an opinion c: )

Hanging out with friends, having time to hang out with your family, having a relaxing week-end, preparing mentally for a basketball match... these are only a few things many people do while being a teenager in the wild world of high school, but not in TEC. Since the first day of school we were thrown a bunch of responsibilities that people in COLLEGE have. I´m in fourth semester, and i am proud of saying that i have survived so far(barely). Having teenage personals problems isn't enough to make you have a break down here, every little situation is viewed as such a BIG deal.
Im talking in general, not in some classes, teachers tend to forget that their class is not the only one we have, and they tend to forget that we also have a social life that doesn't involve books, theories, etc. since you begin the semester the PRESSURE starts, by the end of the semester i bet you that you have lost more than half of the amount of hair you used to have(im deadly serious.). I'm not saying its impossible, but TEC does tend to put drastic tension on us. Week ends aren't that fun anymore, because there will always be something of homework, if someday you think you are "homework-free" you are probably 99.99% wrong. Here there exists 3 kinds of people: the nerds, (not-so-smart-compared-to-nerds) hard working people, and the not so smart people that simply dont care nor appreciate the opportunity they have. Eventually many give up to the extreme pressure, and not everyone survives the journey on TEC.
i am aware that this school is one of the bests, and that everyone in it should be honored to be here, and that its not that they hate us(or want to make us miserable), its just that they want to prepare us REALLY good, but they are forgetting that we are just teenagers and life isn't only about books, classes, etc. its also about enjoying( in a healthy way) being alive. Because eventually when you enter TEC there will be a moment in your life that everything will turn rutinary.

Abortion

Should abortion be legal or illegal? This is an argument that no government is completely sure about the answer. In my personal opinion, it is easy for me to say that abortion should be illegal. Who am I to decide to lives or who dies, should I be responsible for a murder? The moral answer I think it would be: no, abortion should not be permitted. But this is where it gets tricky; what if a young teenage girl gets raped, does she has the right to abort? Or should she live with the terrible circumstances at such a young age? If someone should be able to answer this, I believe it should be the women; we are responsible for our bodies and for what happens to them, even though it is not always in our hands. Thankfully I have never seen myself in these circumstances and I do not agree with abortion, but I’m aware that if I ever see myself in these circumstances my opinions my opinion might change. Only being in the shoes of those who agree with abortion, we would understand their reasons.
This debate forms great polemic in a government because the states are not sure if they should support this idea because they know that if they accept many people would take advantage of this and there would be a chaos.
So as a conclusion I believe that this should be decision of every person, only we know the reason we act the way we do. We must take responsibility of our own acts, but without being forced of doing something because of the government.

Sports

The human being was made to learn about all types of education, but one of the most important is physical education. Into this category Sports get in. sports consist of "playing" or "practicing" some kind of activity which most of the time is phisical. this is important because we must try to keep our body Fit and healty from problems likes overweight or Cardiovascular illnesses. Some examples of sports are Basquetball, Football, Tennis, proffesional swimming, etc. i believe that the most important type of sports are the ones played in teams, one of the reasons is because you learn to communicate with others better.

It is funny how you never imagine that a sport is able to unite a country, but even in that scence we must not underestimate the power that flows within it. A perfect example would be Invictus, Africa was able to get more united thanks to the collaboration a the spirit of a Rugby team. I believe that one of the most important thing a sport person needs is SPIRIT, because without it would make it boring with no thrill.

As a conclusion a highly recommend everyone to practice a sport so you can live the competitive and fun physicals practices.

Migration of mexicans in the United States

The United States contains the mixture of these 2 different cultures, not counting in the cultures already found in the United States. Mexicans are the ones who are mostly involve in t his problem because of the fronteer there exists between Mexico and the United States. This has become too great “chaos” for the country because United States complains that Mexicans have empowered many of their hand manufacturing jobs or works. The reason that many companies hire Mexicans is because they are able to pay them less of what they would pay to a normal U. S. citizen. And this makes the government lose money because they then the government has the responsibility to support all the U.S. citizens that don’t have a job. And socially this also affects the American citizens socially because the country is starting to acquire many of Mexican costumes.

In my opinion the United States should look for other solutions for this problem than just kicking Mexicans out of the country, because besides of everything I belive Mexicans are good and hard workers, that in technically help improve many companies economic status, because it helps them save much of their money. The government shouldn't make so complicated the permissions for job emplyment to inmigrantes, and they should give more freedom for these men.

Public schools vs Private schools

Are public schools actually better than private schools? or do private schools outstand the public ones? what is the real difference between them? is it the same in all countries? these are some of the questions many people think about when theyre looking for "good" schools. The differences between private and public schools is that for example, private schools you have to pay to be in the school, and public schools are free but are supported by the government. So technically there is no correct answer for this question, because not all public schools are mediocre nor all private schools are fair and have high standards. this truly depends on the organization who is in charge of it. in matter of the teaching, some public schools are better payed in some countries than in others, or visaversa. In matter of the size of the classroom it is most common that public schools have larger classes than private, because some of district rules of private schools have counted the amount of students allowed in a classroom. dependending on how well the government is administrated with the schools district assosiation.

so as a conclusion for this there is no clean cut answere. for every country, for every school the answer might be different to other it all depends in the perspective in which we see the things.

Earthquake in chile

Yesterday Feb, 27 there was a terrible earthquake in chile with a magnitude of 8.8. it caused hundreds of deaths. it is known that since 1906 chile has experienced approx. 28 earthquakes causing more than 30,000 deaths. strangely in this earthquake it is said that there were less death's than in Haitis earthquake. Many people question this strange fact but the answere is because Chile was prepared to manage these kind of situations, and lead more people to survive safetly.
Haiti unfortunatly besides if being not prepared for the situation, is extreme poor and does not have the resources to help people survive these kind of disasters. it is strange but true how the preparation of a country can help many men survive, and in my opinion all the coutries should help eachother making more back up planes for cases like these. i believe that the United Nations should make a found where people donate money or contries donate part of their taxes. and in case of a natural disaster such as the on Haiti had, the United Nation can help out with that fond. we must find ways to help eachother for things such as the ones that are just happening, thing we cant control, and yet is our fault because we dont do anything about it.

Poverty

the poor is borned or transformed? sadly this is suomething that will always exist because of the fact that we live in a world with only a certain amount of sources. but have you ever questioned yourself, how can we fix poverty? well, it actually depends on alot of factors, for example one of the first factors would be the government, by this i mean the way the country organizes itself to afford enough resources for everyone. the second factor i would consider the society we live in and how we take care of the resources, for example in Hermosillo the scarcity of water has made a great impact in poverty. and finally the last important factor in my opinion would be yourself and how you control situations. maybe you are part of a poor and humble family, but that doesnt mean that you have the same faith. you got to try and have a education, if that is not possible you should try and get a job. this is of course is you are older than 15. if not the government should make institutions to feed and give education to poor kids. we must remember that nothing is impossible.

China Lists $9.6 Billion in Shares of U.S. Companies

i read this very intresting article that says how Shangay has invested over 9 billion Dollars to U.S. companies such as Apple, Motorola, Visa, Coca Cola, etc. with all the averages it is said that China has invested more to United states corporations than its own. What does this reflect? it reflects how the despite of the economic crisis, United States is still gaining power and credit by other influental countrys. it is impressive the role the U. S. has taken. we all dependend enormesly on it. not only it own most of the most powerful countries in the world. but also has power with most of the big and powerful countries in the world.

In Haiti, Practicing Medicine From Afar

as many of you know the earthquake of Haiti has promoted a great chaos to the world. this has softened many people's heart. because sadly, Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world. because of this many american doctors have started to test possible cures of mortal diseases. there were many volunteer surgeons from the United States who performed about 1000 operations since the earthquake. it is believed that doctors should soon be able to consult via satellite with specialists in Miami and other medical centers to improve their skills and be able to help more the Haiti population. thankfully people are being aware of the situation. United States has supported alot with nurses and medicen. everyone is doing their best to keep Haiti alive.

Familiys and Technology

it is very impressive in which the technological rate has grown. now a days it is completly normal to see small kids with exotic gadgets like iphones, ipods, laptops, etc. why is this? well, it is intresting, but the woman has influeces this episode of life grow. what do i mean with this? the amount of women who study has grown impresively. before, the women used to stay at home, stake care of the kids, make dinner, etc. it was not in their nature to have the right to study. afther the revolution many of these costums changed. the women began studing and molding herself as a professionist. this has caused the increase of job employments and technological advances. and the increasement of job has made a impact if the amount of population. so it has all become a cycle. and in the future it is known that man kind will become everyday more dependant of gadgets and techonology. the results to this depend to us.

Google leaving China

As many people know China has gained confliction with google. the reason is simple, google wants to promote access to all kinds of information, as it already does for coutries like ours. Sadly, the government of China hides too much information from their people that google could share to them. that is why the government decided to restrict most of the acces of google from their citizens. Google got upset of their desicion and is threating to leave china. this event has promoted the lack of Freedom of speach china has. the primary concern the goverment has about giving freedom of speach is the reaction of their people to them. by this i mean, what would they do? would they fight? would the create a different democracy? well these are the questions China has decided to avoid.
the most intresting part is that other countries comme wont about the situation and most of them agree with google. i mean, why would the chinese want to keep google if the cant even access it well. well the goverment obviosly wants the access to himself. it is not convinient for them to lack that kind of access.. and besides what would the chinese people think about the situation? would they agree? well these answeres may be answered the the chaos is done.
