Youtube, Target of violent videos
It is true that the videos most popular website Youtube has been very useful for millions of people. First it was a good site to hear music and watch the most recent videos, but later, it started to have more and more violent videos. How to forget when Sadam Jussain was sentenced to death and in hours hundreds of people were uploading the video that showed Jussain’s death.
Now it is very common to find street fights among teenagers, and what is more sad of all this, is the great quantity of videos that shows violence in school. When I saw for the first time in the news about this situation, I did not really give importance to it, but now I realize how this problem is. Also, it is becoming more often to see also terrible gunfights that involves deaths and hurt blooding people.
I know that this was not Youtube’s creator idea, and I am sure they do everything they can to keep this type of terrible videos out of their websites, but still, it is hard to watch the reality of this ugly world so close with this kind of uploads.
It is terrible that technology can bring us bad things like this ones, just think for a moment in the kids who navigate in the internet and find violence so easily, obviously they will not grown up normally, they could become violent, and all because some guys decided to put the “funny” video where they were hurting someone. This has to change, technology bring us good things but the reality is that is giving us more unnecessary and ugly things.

Marketing Online, great idea!
Last Wednesday we were inform about a video that people from university of our campus want to do in order to upload it to internet, the ladies that explained all to us said that it was a new way to promote our school, and also a very original because few institutions have done it so far, they called online marketing.
First the idea was not very clear to me, until a video was show up. This video was of a school in France that was doing online marketing, it started with a couple of people arriving at school, and then the tour around their campus began, all in one shot, one sequence. People dancing and singing (it remind me High School Musical) were showing to us how were their buildings and which activities they do, a really impressive idea because they never talk to the camera about their school, people there just sing and dance but everything can be understood easily.
Online marketing also can be defined as Internet marketing, i-marketing, web-marketing, online-marketing, Search Engine Marketing (SEM) or e-Marketing. Among the reasons I consider this type of marketing really good is because is inexpensive, just imagine how many people could see a video on internet in a single day if the video is located on a popular website.
Internet marketing can offer a greater sense of accountability for advertisers. Marketers and their clients are becoming aware of the need to measure the collaborative effects of marketing.
They video will be recorded on April 26, with only one attempt of practice before making the real video, more than 300 students will participate on it. There is no question about, it will be really fun and will be the beginning of online marketing era in Tec.

Corruption does not stop
There is no doubt that in many countries there is corruption. The concept of corruption consists in the taking of money it is not form their own work. Politicians usually ask for certain amount of money to the government to make infrastructure, but most of time they use a little part of that amount and the rest is “of them”, this actions obviously affect the standard of life of many people that expects more from their government.
I think that in Mexico is one of the countries with a democratic system that presents almost always a corrupted system. People in the streets have lost confidence to the people on power, and I am one of them. Even if we vote for the “less worse” candidate, we will end up dealing with some corrupt guy.
This is a situation that should concern to all of us because corruption makes honest people lose jobs and make our country a worst place. In Mexico, there have been many shame stories like “Juanito’s” one, a politician that was supposed to quit after winning an election to give his power to other person, it was a false candidate. Come on! In what other country you will se that? Probably none, only in a country where corruption has become more normal each day, something that should worry more than one person.

A new lizard is found in the Philippines
It seems that a new species was discovered and after several DNA analysis, scientists confirmed that this species was unknown or did not exist.
Scientists couldn’t see the lizard for the trees. But now they’ve tracked down and named Varanus bitatawa, a skittish reptile that’s hard to spot even though it grows up to 2 meters long and sports bright yellow speckles.
In forests on the Philippine island of Luzon, the newly discovered monitor lizard hauls itself up into trees in search of fruit and melts into the vegetation if humans approach, says herpetologist Rafe Brown of the Biodiversity Institute at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
DNA tests were even more important, confirming that the species differs from a previously identified fruit-eating monitor living in a different part of the island. The first thing that came to my mind was if this event has something to do with biodiversity imbalance. It is true that technology is advancing pretty fast, but is not a secret that a lot of species have been discovered in past years quicker. So what if we are damaging our ecosystem at some point that even new animals are being born. We have to take care more of our planet or more imbalances will keep presenting.
It was until summer of 2009 when the same team of scientist start working deeper on the discovery of this reptile and they finally got an answer. I really hope that this is not about ecosystem imbalance because just like this species came on, also bad things can happen, like species extinction, let’s say that it was a scientific big advance, for the moment.

Open Design
Now at days, we spent a a fourth or fifth part of our day in internet, so we have less time to go shopping and search for what WE want. It is exhausting to go to the mall and move from store to store searching for the dress you want in a certain type, color and size, this happens to when you want some tennis shoes, a shirt, a toy, furniture, jewelry or even a car!Companies use this amazing tool, internet, to facilitate the search of what they want and how they want it. They designed programs that let you decide how you want what you want. For example, Hummer has on its web page an application where you choose which Hummer you want in the color you want and it has a list of accessories you could apply to it. And when you apply the accessory, you can see how it looks on the hummer you choose! Next to it, is like a ticker where you can see the price of your customized hummer including the accessories you have applied to it. Another perfect example is Nike, where you can design your own shoes! And much more companies have developed this. This new way of buying is an excellent attention to the consumer. They give us the power to CHOOSE how we want what we are going to buy. In the past, you had to go to the factory and wait a lot of time to see your product. Now you can see it while you design it! I consider this as a FABULOUS way companies are treating their clients.

Ludomania
Ludomania, is the name given to Gambling Problems. Problem gambling is characterized by many difficulties in limiting money and/or time spent on gambling which leads to adverse consequences for the gambler, others, or for the community (wikipedia).
Who hasn't felt the need of being 21 years old just to go to Las Vegas and gamble at the casinos? Well, I have. This feeling can be either good or bad. Good because maybe I just wanna have fun and party. But on the other side, bad because maybe I want to bet all my money. Millions of americans have this problem, ludomania, and only few people recieves treatment. This people can't control their obsession with gamblin and this affect themselves, their family, and their wallets!
We don't have to go far away to Las Vegas. Here in Hermosillo we have several casinos where there is pople who spend half the day in there. That is NOT cool at all. I heard in the news, a story of a woman who had this problem. She went for the first time with her friends in her birthday and she won a big amount of money, arount 5000 pesos. So next day she went to see if she was that lucky again, but she had no success. Then next weekend she came to the casino again to see if she got he luck back, but she lost more money than last time. She kept going everyday after work, she hoped she woud win back her money, but she never won. Then she decided to work more hours, to gain more money to bet in the casino. After the 2 jobs, she went to the casino to lose her salary. Time kept passing and the women emptied her bank accounts. With no money and no time, she lost her children because she didn't paid their school and there was no food in the house, etc. When she saw that her biggest son selling drugs to gain money, her world went down and she started realizing what she was doing to her and her family's life. So she decided to have help from a psychologyst, stop going to casinos, and pay more atention to her children.

This is an example of ludomania, a problem that we as teenagers are facing. We can see this just as a game in Facebook, or just to have fun and win/lose a little amount of money with out friends, but later on, this could be a serious problem. We should be aware of the consequences gambling has and have control over it.

Sex in everything
Last week, I was watching the news and there was a strange but extremely real documental about sex in videogames and music videos. While I was watching it, I remembered when I used to play videogames all day long, without noticing putting attention to that issue.
Videogames started in the 80's and the first controversy was with the videogame Custers Revenge for Atari, where there is a naked man and a sexy woman with pleasure face. This naked man apparently raped this native american woman and he gained points for doing it, so this game was categorized as one of the worst games ever. In the 90's we had the biggest videogame sex symbol, Lara Croft Tom Raider. Now at days, most of the games we play have this sex content that is really obvious, put we don't pay much attention. Although, the poppulation still percieves this games as toys for children, but this games were not made just for children.
But, why so much controversy if there is sex in EVERYTHING, since art, movies, books, music, paintings, for example Picasso, Elvis, Nirvana, American Beauty, etc. The key is to recognize that exporing sexuality is a small but essential part of the development as an artform.

Swimming in CO2? NOT REALLY :)
Everybody has heard about the "pollutant" carbon dioxide, but only few people know the real meaning of CO2. Carbon dioxide is a colourless odourless incombustible gas present in the atmosphere and formed during respiration, the decomposition and combustion of organic compounds, and in the reaction of acids with carbonates (thefreedictionary). CO2 is just a significant part of the atmosphere, it's concentration is of 387 ppm (parts per million) which is about 0.038%, while oxygen is about 20.54% and nitrogen is about 76.55%. In the last 600 million years, this is the 2nd time the CO2 concentrations are THAT LOW! The first time was in the Carboniferous Period and the 2nd, now at days, named the Quaternarny Period. The CO2 highest concentration was during the Cambrian period 530 million years ago, with 7000 ppm! You can see it in the graph below.

Politicians and scientists warn us about thi "pollutant" which is actually nothing in out atmosphere, and it is NOT a pollutant, we need it to survive!!!! If we have more CO2, trees absorb it and produce more O2 (oxygen), humans breath in O2 and exhale CO2, and this is a cycle! As seen in the picture below, that white smoke is not polluting, it is just water vapor. People see this and think this is global warming, greenhouse effects, destruction of the ozone layer, and a lot more lies -).

Lies about Flu AH1N1
"If you don't create wars, create diseases," said an old english general. The farmaceutic market only works while people is sick. Creating diseases like swine flu H1N1 and the avian flu H5N1, they will create a need for medicine in people and the government would contribute big quantities of money to a fake disease.
The avian flu H5N1 was discovered in 1997 in Hong Kong, where only 18 people was infected and 6 died. Then, there were detected 2 new cases and only one died. but it wasn't until 2005 when it spread all around the world. The World Health Organization warned that 7.4 million people could die and 2 million would be americans. At that time, George Bush contributed 1200 million dollars to buy 20 million doses of TamiFlu. TamiFlu is the recommended medicine to attack several types of flu, it is made by the company GILEAD, whose president was Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense during Bush's government. So, where are those 20 million doses if in the Unided States NO ONE DIED? And what could be best for commercializing the TamiFlu than creating a need based in society's fear and paranoia.
The WHO reported 272 deads by avian flu between 2003 and 2009, with an average of 40 people per year. Now, 11 months after the beginning of the swine flu, reported that there were around 16455 deads.
-Did you know that approximately 100 people die each year because of a thunderbolt?
-Did you know that 3 million people die each year beacause of malaria?
-Did you know that 1.5 million people die each year because of diarrhea.
-Did you know that 250,000 to 500,000 people die each year because of a COMMON FLU?
Which of these diseases are seen in the news? ANYONE, the swine flu isn't more than a severe flu and is almost daily in the news. Do you know anyone infected of swine flue AH1N1? if it is contagious, where is their family? Don't be in panic. We should be careful of any disease and take into consideration the prevention measures. WE HAVE BEEN SCAMMED BY OUR GOVERNMENT! They are playing with our HEALTH and our FAMILIES to make profit! We should be informed, but don't believe everything said by the media.

Disappearing Sea Ice? Global warming?
A few weeks ago, my cousin told me there was a webpage about climate change fraud, but I didn't pay attention to it until last week when I remembered I had to do my blog posts. So I googled the site and found lots and lots of forums, blogs, etc. I can't believe that maybe this global issue is a hoax!
One of the things I read was about the disappearing sea ice caused by global warming. It says that this is not a manmade effect, this is a natural effect. This has been happening for thousands of years and we assume that CO2 emissions, which started less than 200 years ago, are the cause of global warming. It is true that since 1800's, earth has been warmer but for natural causes, not by CO2. Earth's temperature is constantly changing. Even around the year 1000's, Central Greenlind's Ice Core was much warmer that what we are experiencing now. When agriculture started, the climate in there was even warmer than in the year 1000's. Around 13000 years ago, there was the last ice age and temperature had being rising until -8000 B.C. and maintaned "stable" (30°C - 35°C) until now. There was no CO2 emissions by burning fossil fuels in that time. Now at days in Central Greenland Ice Core, the temperature is colder that how it was around -1300 B.C.

Now, going to the Antartica, as you can see in the chart, there have been several periods where the is it cooler and then comes a big change on temperature warming the Earth. And in this chart you can also see there is a relation between what happened in Central Greenland Ice Core, there was an ice age before -11000 B.C. and now seems to be stable.
So now, you can see that there is no influence of CO2, with the melting ice cores. What is happening is a natural effect made by the amazing Mother Nature. Politicians and scientists convince us by putting a photograph of a polar bear cub, which touches our heart and make a global warming poster.

Drug Addiction Impact on Society
Acorrding to NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse), drugs and alcohol has an impact of $67 billion per year. This includes costs related to crimes and incarceration, drug addiction treatment, medical costs from overdoses and drug related injuries and complications, time lost from work and social welfare programs. Because drug addiction and alcoholism are diseases of the brain, which is the center of judgment and behavioral patterns, drug addicts and alcoholics have a disturbingly high propensity to commit unlawful and immoral acts to obtain these substances because of the feeleing of power, indestructability which leads to aggressive and impulsive behavior.

Drug Addiction is on of the fastes ways to spread AIDS, by the sharing of needles and using drugs may lead a person to make bad decisions and participate in sexual activities with an infected individual. According to NIDA, drug addictions is now the single largest factor in the spread of HIV in the U.S.
Although there are millions of organizations and programs to prevent drug abuse and thousands of pages about this topic, it doesn't compare anything to the feeling of devastation and hopelessness felt by drug addicts and their families. The emotion of failure, anger, depression, confusion, and hundred more emotions can't be described in stadistics.
With special programs, treatment centers, rehabilitation, and most important, INFORMATION, we can do all we can to educate people about addictions and their consequences, not just physical consequences, also including social consequences. Until you go through it or watch a loved one going throught it, there is no other way to feel the true effects of Drug Addiction.

Hydrogen Home Fuel Station
A new technology has amazed scientists and people, Hydrogen fuel at home. It is a machine that separates hydrogen from oxygen in water, and puts hydrogen into small cartridges in low pressure that makes it safe because we all know that hydrogen in high pressures is very dangerous as you can see the hydrogen bombs. This machine gets electricity connecting it to a solar panel, so it is a very ecological way to have a new resource and a new fuel. Experts are testing a car that uses Hydrogen instead of gasoline, what makes this an economic and ecological resource.
Climate Change & Religion
Climate changes are affecting some rituals made in rivers. Like this Hindu people that have their ritual in the Ganges River, one of the most endangered rivers of the world. Some glaciers that feed it are disappearing because of global warming. If these glaciers disappear, the Ganges river will dry up and these rituals won't be made. Not going so far away, the Yaquis also live around the Rio Yaqui and the Oviachi. They make some rituals and use that water for basic needs, but if we continue wasting water, these water supplys will disappear before we realize it.
Legalize Marijuana

A former Mexican foreign minister said that Mexico and the United States shouls both legalize marijuana. He said it is ridiculous to try to stop marijuana entering to tha U.S. because it is sold in California for medical purposes. The DEA mentioned that 60% of Mexican drug cartel's profit came from marijuana, so if it is legalized it would be a great part of the problem. This man, Jorge Castañeda, criticize Calderon for declaring war to the drug cartels, a war that have costed more than 17000 lives en less than 4 years.
This is a very discussed problem all around the world, but the question is "¿What should we do?" There are debates, forums, discussions, etc. about his topic but nobody knows which is the best answer. If we legalize drugs, there is a possibility that more people consume it. But if we stay like this, we have drug cartels and money wash. We should do something to this, starting by helping drug addicts and having more vigilance over kids and out of schools.
Man arrested for posting gay rights posters
As the title says, Malawian police arrested a man putting posters supporting homosexuality, which is illegal in this nation. Peter Sawali was charged with conduct likely to cause breach of peace, his posters said, "Gay rights are human rights." Past December, a couple was arrested for public indecency after they become engaged in that country.

These countries have to be more open-minded to these situations because this things are seen common for almost all the world. Human rights organizations are trying to help these 3 arrested inocents. Laws have to change, people's way of thinking have to change, and morals have to change if necessary. Gays are humans, just like you me and everyone around us. They only have different attraction, conduct and way of life.
