Yesterday as i was talking to my dad, he told me about a news that happened a couple of days back. Then i reaserched it because i wasn't conviced, i tought he was lying me. Then after i found it i knew it was true, i cant beleive how Mexico has become in a war zone. This news talked about 100 "sicarios" in 15 ultimate model cars with powerful weapons, took a hole town(Maycoba) its near Yecora. Not only that they also everyhouse looking for the people they wanted to kill ( the procurador's dad). Not only this they are also more powerfull than the PEI (Policía Estatal Investigadora) that they wanted to prove it so they got into their building and burn it. I couldn't beleive this news, that is why i wanted to post about it, how can the goverment allowe people like this(narcos) do whatever in our country. The goverment should do something about it, we should not be afraid to be outside of our houses, we should feel secured by the goverment. Or is the goverment involved?

Excessive consumption

Every time a go to the United States, I found out that there is a new videogame console with certain capacity of saving, a lot of people is buying that console because is the double of capacity than the previous one they had and it is at a real good price. But later I find out like four months after that trip, that the same console launched another console with even more capacity and better quality of graphics at the same price than the console I saw four months ago. This is how economy is working now, we cannot enjoy of some new article because in a few months we will be “oldies” because the new device is a lot better than the one we have. There is no way to stop technology from keep advancing, but we definitely will have to see things from other way if we have to survive this excessive consumption era. It is excessive that companies are releasing new articles very soon. I think this one of the causes that cause the economic crisis, people want new things so they waste all they have without caring about the consequences. It is impossible to stop the way companies do their job, but it is possible to control ourselves of buying every new thing on the market, we have to be intelligent in that aspect.

Basketball an unpopular sport in Mexico

We live in a country were football is the most followed sport, the most recognized around the world, and where the money goes from most of the advertisement during the National Mexican Football Team. If we talk about basketball here in Mexico, only a few people will know who are the bests players, the bests teams and only a few amount of people will play it. I have played this sport since 6th grade, and basketball is something I really like, and I also like that here in my school, basketball is well supported by our directors. But what makes me feel bad is that in Mexico is not loved by so many people. Only one player is currently playing in the NBA, the best league of the world, his name is Eduardo Najera. I think he should be a good example to follow to promote basketball here in Mexico, we really need it, in the United States there are millions of people who follow several sports, why Mexico could not be able to become more fan of basketball? I think it could happen if with the time it receives more publicity by the big TV companies., they play an important role on people’s likings, what is more on the TV is where people will put attention, and basketball deserves attention here in Mexico.

Tandeo

I want to talk about a theme very important here in Hermosillo, the tandeo. I think this is a way of how the goverment is dealing with one of the global problem that is scarcity of water.

Here on Hermosillo we don't have a lot of water, so we need to get our water from another places, underwater, dams, rivers(the little we have). So one measurement that the goverment took was to start the Tandeo.

So the first measurment they tok was closing the dam El Molinito, then they had given us 8 hours of water at the day, I think this is a good measument that Aguah is doing. They are trying to conserve water and to make use value what we have, so we need to star to take concience in natural resources, because someday we will have scarcity in all of them.

The pill

I saw the news and i found something intresting about how the goverment control the behavior of people. On Lima, Peru the goverment started again to distribut free pills (the next day pill), they had already stopped to do that but the OMS organizacion Mundial de la Salud, had prhibited that pill because they thought the pill had abortion effects.

Now they investigate more about the pill, they dont know if it does you damage but what they know is that this pill have no abortion effects. On Peru the abortion is ilegal exept when the mother is in danger. This is why the goverment stoped the free distribution on the first place, but they didn't mind that stores selled this product. But then they realized the pill wasn't related with abortion that is why they started to distribute it again. I felt this a good example of how goverment tried to change or mold our behavior on society.

2012

I want to talk about 2012, the mayas prediccted about the world ending on 2012. In the movie 2012, this movie talks about how our world can change, and i know it will change. Our society, economy, politics,resources can change in any moment. I am talking about what is happening now in the world, this movie is not so ficticios, why? the earthquakes that are happening aroud the world, Chiles's Earthquake, Haiti earthquake. I think the world can change in any moment. We need to be prepared for this.

Racism of PRD deputy

I feel so angry to reed this news, how can a men that represent us, say comments like that about people that had just been through a big natural disaster. I think it is really bad that people like that are in charge on the goverment. Federal Deputy Ariel Gómez León, also known as “El Chunko,” he also have a radio program, i think it s great the punishment he took, because how can a racist have a radio program, that people can hear and adopt his thoughts. I thought in Mexico there wasn't so much racism, but know i know that problem is not only in other countries but it also had affected us and our country.

Global warming

Global warming

It is clear that global warming is affecting all of us. Global warming is a problem that is because the fossil fuels we burn, that gases are creating what we know as a green house effect, we are having because of our bad managment of resources. We had been using the fossil fuels a lot, that we had damaged our enviorment. This is a problem that i think we are going through for not having the culture or the value of respect. We damage a lot our world with this problems, contamination, global warming, deforestation , ect.

I think a solution of this is law, as we spoke in class about how taxes are to shape our behavior and to create money for infrastructure, i think we can use law to protect and change the behavior of all of us. We need to do this to conserve our planet.

A woman in charge

I was eating breakfast, and the news guy was talking about Costa Rica , that they had elected a new president. But the intresting about it was that the oldest democray in Central America had a new president and it was a woman, Laura Chinchilla. I think this talks great about how we have evolved in society, in culture. Before it was to hard for someone that was black, or woman to be president. Now it is possible, it talks about how we are trusting more in the soul that in the color.

It also talks about how well we have taken out one of the problems in society, but it is still present, racism. The society has understand that we can trust in someone that is not of our same color, but some people still think diferent, some people think they are still better just because they are of other race, like the diputado of PRD

Overpopulation

I was reading an article about how overpopulation and enviormental problems are very related. Overpopulation, acording to this article is the most severe problem we have. Why? I think because if we didnt had overpopulation, a lot of problems would be not a problems anymore. Imagine if there was no overpopulation we wouldnt have the need to burn so much fossil fuels, or we wouldn't contaminate so much, or more jobs will be available. I think that overpopulation is the mayor problem we, as a human race, are facing.
