Comic War

One day I was browsing the internet and seeing one of my favorite webcomic named " Axis Powers Hetalia" This is one of my favorite comics since it tells history on a funny way. It depicts every country involucrated on the world war 1 and 2 : USA, Italy,Japan, etc.. as characters from this funny representation of history.

Then, this simple webcomic was made to an animation. I was really excited about this event. When I started seeing this animation I remembered that on the webcomic there was Korean character, but unfortunately on the animation it didn't appeared, so I investigated what happened.

It seem that Korea had bad relations with Japan ( the country in which the animation was made), since Japan was posesor of the islands that once were Korean. Korea got extremely offended that this animation depicted a Korean stereotype of the country and wanted Japan to cancel it. Fortunately, the animation didn't got cancelled but the Korean character will not be in the animated series.

If the animation company didn't erased the Korean character from the animation, this action will be just another reason to create a war between both countries.

There is a link for a Youtube video that explains this problem. ( see description for translation)

Spain sends back foreigners from the country

We may have heard that Spain is now in trouble due to the current global crisis, which has hit Europe and particularly this spanish-speaking country.

We see that Spain's economy has grown negatively and as consequence, people are seeing themselves in the situation of changing of work or quitting it.

As Spain has to focus itself on its economy, it leaves others factors behind, one is that one of the foreigners coming to this country.

As in Spain live many people from Latin America, Spain has stated that no more are able to enter the country unless they prove they are going back to their countries of origin. This is to prevent than more foreigners stay in Spain and more unemployment occurs.

Most of the countries from Latin America have not said anything about the people being returned, however, Brazil has started to do the same thing with Spaniards going to that country; they have to show they are going back, and if they don't, they are sent back.

I don't consider this as a bad decision for Spain because it wants to recover its economy; however, I believe the decision has been taken too suddenly, and many people were not planning for this to happen. I think the countries should first announce their ideas about something and then, start doing it, or else, many other countries could get mad and do the same thing in return. We don't any futur problems regarding these aspects just because decisions were not made correctly.

India's Crisis, a Thirsty Giant

India’s water crisis defies a single easy solution. While there is fierce debate, there is also broad agreement that demand must be contained, particularly in agriculture, and supply increased.

Water conservation, management and disciplined use with commitment.

Possible Solutions:

ü Water management should be decentralized and local communities encouraged to manage their own water resources, rather than leaving it all to government.

ü Everyone who uses water should pay for it.

ü Those who pollute and overexploit the water should be strictly punished.

ü India should turn into more water-efficient crops and treating and reusing wastewater. Farmers should to be encouraged to grow nutritious, water-efficient food grains, like sorghum and millet, and the government should pay fixed prices for them.

ü India’s flood plains should be preserved and not used for development.

ü The government should offer incentives for farmers to install far more efficient drip irrigation, and do away with subsidized electricity to discourage the overpumping of groundwater.

ü The private sector should be enlisted to improve water management in cities, making certain kinds of water, like drinking water more expensive than recycled water, which can be used for gardening and outdoor use.

Also, I came to my own conclusion, people and government should agree to select the best options available for India in order to solve its major problem. Water is vital for us all, so they must work together so India can succeed, because the problem of water (its scarcity) brings many problems including a partnership with health problems, illnesses and deaths. No water, no crops, no food for Indian people, neither to sell to other countries, then sales go down, etc. will have an big economic crisis. I think it’s like a chain of complications. '
