Hybrid vehicles use less gas and for every gallon of gasoline that they use pumps 20 pounds of CO2, so this cut down the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere and the exesive use of gasoline.
This cars use many types of energy but the main energy source is the electric battery that makes no CO2 emissions.
The problem with these cars is the the car’s lifetime depends on the battety’s lifetime, and the replacements for those batteries are so expensive, but the main problem is that they will be difficult to safely recycle them and this is an environmental inpact.
Now Toyota is improving new batteries technology that can have a longer lifetime and will be easier to recycle.
