Evading Taxes
I want to blog about taxes in this occasion, because I think this is a very polemic topic due to the increase of the I.V.A.. As we all know, the I.V.A. percentage over everything we buy has increased from 15% to 16%, reflecting on the discontent of most Mexicans. But why is this happening? I don’t want to talk about how angry Mexicans are, or what negative or positive consequences this raise is about to bring; I want to talk about one of the major causes of this change: evading taxes.
Huge companies, specially national and transnational companies, have managed to evade a considerable amount of the percentage they must pay to the government. They do this by having an excellent lawyer, who’s aware of the discrepancies that our constitution has. By analyzing the established laws, those attorneys find ways to justify themselves and the companies for not paying those taxes; the worst thing about this is that IT’S LEGAL!! And, of course, that bright man gets like 20% of the money that would’ve been paid to the government. Therefore, many lawyers focus on this area, because there’s where the bills are.
What’s my point? Well, I just want to say how unfair this is. How is it possible that the Mexican government complains of those companies but it doesn’t do anything at all to avoid this situation? How come they haven’t thought about changing those laws to fill up those holes that let rich people make themselves even richer. The WORST of all this, is that they want to compensate that money they’re not gaining by taking it from the citizens again, who are already paying a high percentage. Where’s fairness here?
I thought governments were made to establish order, justice and fairness in a community, but my government has disappointed me with this issue. I hope the leaders of this country get together and manage to create another constitution, or at least make the necessary arrangements to stop this from happening.

A few weeks ago a delegate from the PRD party & also a radio host, named Ariel Gómez León “El Chunko”, made a comment about the fact that Mexico was helping Haiti (because of the earthquakes they have had). As most of us know, the government took a little percentage from the people’s wages (The ones that work in government; in order to help Haiti.), Well he commented that the Haitians are abusive and that Mexico should not help them because they are black, and also because in the T.V. we can “see” that in Haiti there are some people giving them food and according to him, they have enough food and they are just asking for more and more.
In my personal opinion he did totally bad in making those comments. First of all he made a racist comment… we are not in those times that people care about the colour of their skin (or at least the ones that are in an important job shouldn't do it). We are all humans and color is not a matter of discrimination (shouldn't be); Then he said that in television we could observe that they are being fed & they are asking for more and more (that they're being abusive), but I think his kind of cretin because in television everybody could notice that they couldn’t be fed because they were so many and the soldiers were just few (in comparison with them). That’s why the soldiers couldn’t distribute food fairly. I think he should had though about what was going on, besides criticizing. He made a wrong comment through radio (his show) and a few days after he was fired because of those racists comments.
I think they did well (the poeple that fired him) because we can't have those kind of people that base their, let's say their critical thinking (the way they see poeple) on the color of their skin, in important jobs such as an delegate. We are in 2010 that shouldn't happen anymore, but there's still racist people. One more last comment I'd like to add is that even if there's still racist people, they shouldn't care of the color of sking when is a matter of helping others (in sense of natural disasters, scarcity, etc.)

I used to live in the state of Chihuahua before coming to Sonora. Specifically, I lived in the capital city which name is also Chihuahua. Like three years ago, a small war started, but somehow it was like a controlled war. The “Narcos” (people who sell and distribute drugs) started killing each other because of the rivalry that two bands of the country have. Apparently, these two bands are fighting for the market and because so many border cities have been closed for them, Chihuahua is the only state left and they want to own it no matter what.
So the war started, and you could hear now and then about two or three people murdered per month, but that was it. And I don’t know when or how, but suddenly everybody was so scared of going out; there were so many street fights with guns and heavier weapons; there were not only dead men but their families sometimes had the same luck.
Parents started to freak out, and the number of parties and social gatherings each weekend started decreasing. But it was not until they killed my best friend’s dad, that I was really sick of all this. He wasn’t even a “Narco”, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong moment. I mean, this is not possible! It’s not possible that each time I speak to someone in Chihuahua they only talk about how ugly things are going, how quiet is the city because everyone’s afraid of going out.
It’s sad to know how a lot of families are losing their members, or how some others have chosen to move to another city. I know that in the first case it’s somehow fair because they chose to get into that business, and they knew what the consequences could be, but it’s extremely unfair for their families and above all for their kids. Why in the world would they want that huge quantity of money if they don’t have a dad to talk with? It’s deplorable to even think that this business is still running and how thousands of people are involved in it. I think this issue isn’t just affecting those states that have a major environment of Narco war (like Sinaloa, Baja California, and Chihuahua): it is also affecting the whole country.
I don’t know what the solution to this problem is, perhaps the legalization of drugs, but I just want it to be over. I’m outraged because I have somehow experienced it, and it’s sad and frustrating. I hope those who are the leaders, reflect upon their mistakes and stop thinking only about themselves, and open their mind to see what they’re doing to my dear México.

First of all, what is racism? Racism is the belief that characteristics and abilities can be attributed to people simply on the basis of their race or like the color of their skin, some racial groups are superior to others. Racism and discrimination have been used as very powerful weapons encouraging fear or hatred of others in times of conflict and war, and even during economic downturns.

y our culture. But 2010 is time to shout for equality we can not continue living in a community having inequialities between humans(men and women) that have the same capacity to make things possible. Things can not continue this way beacuse everyone is the same no matter what gender you are, what you wear, or where you live. Inequality has to be a lot with discrimination. The term discrimination that refers to the treatment taken against to a certain people or group. Inequality between men and women is like a kind os discrimination because they think women like things. The thing is that women are EQUAL to men only with different physical characteristics. In my thursday exam I read something about inequal payment of 21% less to women even if they have more studies than men. This are the kind of thing we need to change for our future and for our kids future. The kind of thing that our parents lived we do not have the necessity to face them because they are not fair. So it is your decision the type of life you want for you and for your kids. We need to shout for equality now!
I am veeeeeeeeerry disappointed with our municipality. I had never in my life experienced what is the “tandeo” because in the neighborhood where I live we had NEVER have the lack of water. But this morning, at 9 o’clock, THERE WAS NO WATER AT HOME!!! I tried to get into the shower because I needed to go to Samantha’s house to do our math guide and I couldn’t take a shower. I never go out of my house without showering first. I was very, very, VERY EXTREMELY mad!!
Nowadays human trafficking with purpose of trafficking or illegal traffic has increased alarmingly. This is due to the problems in economy, the ones many countries face, also because of the lack of implementation of programs to combat it, and of course the huge demands of cheap labor work. Human trafficking is the third most lucrative crime worldwide, next to drug traffic and arms traffic.
Obama is basically angling to call the bluff of Republicans who he believes have done nothing but stand in opposition to his proposals on revamping the U.S. healthcare system and stimulating the
economy.
It is a strategy he is outlining in town-hall meetings and most recently at Democratic fund-raising events he held last week, as he seeks to regain his political footing after Democrats lost their 60-vote supermajority in the Senate.
The president Obama is now putting on practice his ideas about how he was going to take the country on progress. He is asking the other party so they can alliance their ideas so they can get better ideas about how to take the country forward.

Nowadays, we are facing to a lot of climate changes. Natural desasters like earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, melting of poles. Somepeople think that this is really normal or natural, but the truth is that we were the ones that make this events happen before. How? Well this is an easy question. All this problems comes from poplution, over population because if there is more people, there is the need for more jobs, and then more factories that produce CO2, besides that people buy cars that produce this kind of gasses that affects our ozone layer. That’s why we should help our world with three basic things:
Every citizen of the world needs to be aware of rapid climate change:
1. Understand the problem, its causes and threats.
2. Let your leaders know the facts and that you expect them to act.
3. Do something today to reduce greenhouse gas output -- please Take Action
So, what are you waiting for?...lets help our world.
