iPod’s impact on Society

Now listening music is getting more and more popular, and the reason is one thing iPod. People who thought that they were too old for using walkmen, now are happy with iPod, and kids, teenagers, adults, old people, etc use it.
The iPod has become one of the most famous gadgets around the world, but why is this? The answer is easy, its just because it’s small and you can carry as many music as you like depending on your capacity, on the other hand some people say that iPods are affecting the society in a negative way. Because people don’t socialize, don’t talk, etc because they preffer to use their iPods. Some other people say that this is not important, but i think this is a problem that we have to worry about because the society is based on socialization

The Alcohol crissis in Sonora

According to recent statistics Sonora is one of the most alcoholic states in Mexico. This is a problem that we have to worry about.

  • Each day 452,055 beer liters are consumed in sonora
  • Each day 220,000 milk liters are consumed in Sonora

  • Each day $7,232,880 in beer are spended in Sonora
  • Each day $2,090,000 in milk are spended in Sonora

  • Every year $2,640,200,000 in beer are spended in sonora
  • Every year $762,850,000 in milk are spended in sonora.

This is impressive, but this doesn’t finish there because it brings many social problems, accidents, deaths etc.

Global Issues

First of all, what is a global issue? It is a broad description that is commonly used to explain all the things that our soceity gives a great importance since it affects all of us locally and also they are being shared with all the cultures and societies within our global community.

The principal issues that the list of group 3 had were:

  • scarcity of oil and water

  • polution

  • poverty (hunger)

  • cime

  • discrimination

  • overpopulation (less jobs and distribution)

  • drugs

  • endangered species

  • corruption

  • immigration

  • totalitarism

  • economic crisis

  • lack of education

  • nuclear weapons

As I was going through this list again, I noticed that all of them were linked together. For example, because their is a lot of poverty, caused by the ecnonmic crisis, people do not have the recources to pay for a school causing the lack of education. Yes, there are public schools nowadays, but some of the families are so poor that the children have to work at a very young age to help their parents pay for food and the things needed at their home and that does not give them the time and opportunity to go study. Also, the lack of money and education cause people to take extreme decisions leading to crime and drugs.

Also, for the fact the the population is growing in a really high rate, over population comes up. This causes that there are a lot more people without a job and the distribution is getting a very poor quality. This causes people to want to move out of the country looking for better job opportunities, causing immigration. But, is immigration the best solution? For some people it might be, for others it won´t. Most of the mexicans who leave to the United States, immigrate illegaly. Think about it. Thousands of mexicans have been killed across the border. Some people, decide just to not immigrate and find a way to get money here. We see those people everyday and everywhere. Whether we are at the supermarket, on every street light, the parking lots of big stores, at the gas station, etc, etc. That brings us back to the poverty topic.

Where is this taking us? Think about it :.

Save Darfur

Sudan is one of Africa's largest countries. It has a very varied population and many different ethnic tribes. It is a place filled with life and variety. Even though there are many different tribes in Sudan they have always managed to live in peace and to coexist in harmony.

Sudan is affected by many issues that affect all of Africa. Sadly, it is also affected by social issues that are caused by its social inestabililty. The historic political and economic marginalization of Darfur caused two armed social movements to arise and fight against the government. These two social movements attacked many of the government's military instalations causing many damages and losses for the government. In an attempt to stop these two social movements the government killed the tribes that provided food and supplies to the armed movements. These left millions without a house to live in and destroyed over 400 villages.

The Sudanese government attacking it's own people is something hard to concieve. The sole act of destroying one's own possesions is crazy, much more the fact of killing your own civilians. It is not only antinational but also antihumanitarian. The actions that the government has taken are very wrong I believe and should be stopped or at least they should change the ways they do things. The social movements should also be more careful, they could make peaceful resistance instead of attacking with violence. The UN is trying to make a change in these areas and help all the homeless people that this civil war has left. We should all start to create a general knowledge of this kind of problems that really affect a big number of the population.

Equality Now

I was surfing the web in order to find information for my post and i found a website named Equalty Now. It is a website works to end violence and discrimination against women and girls around the world. EqualityNow concerns about: rape, domestic violence, traffiking of women, female genital mutilation, politcal participation, gender discriminaton, among other things. Equality Now was founded in 1992 to work for the protection and promotion of the human rights of women around the world. Equality Now shows the world violence and discrimination against women and mobilizes international action to support their efforts to stop these human rights abuses. They distribute information about human rigts violations, take actiosn to protest those violations and bring public attention. This asosiation is callng for justice and equality for women.

I think this asosiation rocks Women su be treated with respect like men are treated. we have the same rights as them and our rights should be respected.

In the website i also read some this:

  • India: A 10-year-old girl is rescued by a flight attendant who notices her crying. Her father has sold her to the 60-year-old Saudi Arabian man sitting next to her for the equivalent of US$240.

  • Kenya: At a boarding school, 300 boys attack the girls' dormitory. Seventy-one girls are raped. Nineteen are trampled to death in the stampede to escape. The school's vice principal remarks, "The boys never meant any harm against the girls. They just wanted to rape."

  • Brazil: A man who confessed to stabbing his wife and her lover to death is for the second time acquitted of murder by an all-male jury. The acquittal is based on the argument that he acted in legitimate defense of his wronged honor.

  • Ireland: A 14-year-old girl, raped by the father of her best friend, learns she is pregnant. She is prohibited from travelling to England where abortion is legal. Only when she indicates she will commit suicide if forced to carry the pregnancy to term does the Supreme Court allow her to proceed.

  • United States: A 51-year-old woman is stabbed 19 times and killed by her former boyfriend as she waits inside a courthouse to extend an order of protection. Twice before he had been charged with harassment. Both times the charges were dropped

COULD SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT'S GONG ON WITH THE WORLD ? this kind of things make sick and mad!!!

Broken Promises

I really loved this picture!!!

Taking advantage of one of my ethics homework about moral judgments, I found out something very interesting for posting it today. Do you remember all of our now president, Felipe Calderón’s, proposals before resulting the elected winner for the presidency? Yes? No? I will help you refresh your mind…

Felipe Calderón proposed that he will stop the increase in gasoline costs for the year 2009. Did you see this happen? I don’t think so… I remember once, when driving to school last year, I saw a huuuuuuuuuuge poster hanging between two trees in one of the most important streets of Hermosillo of Felipe Calderón stating that he will actually stop the increase of costs in this much needed resource if you voted for him.

He cheated on us! He lied to his people! (myself included). HE IS A FRAUDE. The president has now to think what to do about this because a lot of people are falling into the account that he didn’t fulfilled his promise. Some secretaries and senators are now making bad judgments to him. The president needs to find a solution to clean his image.

Careful people... don’t let others make a fool of us, especially high rank persons! Demand justice!!

Economic Inequality and Education

Economic inequality is the differences in the distribution of economic assets and income. This term usually refers to the equality of outcome and equality of opportunity. Economic inequality has existed since a lot of time. There are a lot of causes for this inequality. But, I think that education is the most important. Not all people have access to school, because they can’t afford it. Even though there are public schools, for some persons it’s more important to work to get money so they don’t go to schools. Also children if they want to school sometimes they can’t, because they need to help their family economically. As we know we need education in order to have a good job, and get the enough money to eat and supply the basic needs. This makes inequality bigger!

Many economists believe that a major reason of the increasing level of is an increase in the demand for highly skilled workers in high-tech industries. They believe that this has resulted in an increase in wages for those with an education, but has not increased the wages of those without an education, leading to greater inequality. Nowadays, there are special systems were adults that work receives food, but I don’t that this can make inequality to decrease. We should have the same opportunities.

Economic inequality also has a lot effects in society. When people don’t have anything to eat, they try to get food wherever they can like in trash. So, they get malnourished and sick. Unfortunately, people die because of this. I think this is very disappointing that some people have everything they want while others are suffering. But I think that people that have this problem can solve it, by trying to make their best effort.

Global Warming

Global warming is the increase of the temperature at the Earth’s surface. Global warming is global issue, which has become the most complicated issue facing world nowadays. The Scientifics are warning of this situation more and more. On the other hand, the technological, economic and political issues that have to be resolved before a concerted worldwide effort to reduce emissions can begin have gotten no simpler, particularly in the face of a global economic slowdown.

This issue is affecting to all of us, and very different aspects. For example, we are now suffering the drastically climate changes. And also all the natural disasters that are happening right now are because of this. We know that the poles are melting down and in a few years some communities could get flooded and a lot of people and also animals are going to die. Unfortunately, also because of the drastical climate changes animals are dying, because they can’t get adapted to it. I think we should make something right now! Every person can apport something to our world; to ecology. For example, we can recycle. Make programs at school of ecology, there are a lot of things we can do!

Food Crisis

While the rises in global food and fuel prices have moderated in recent months, domestic prices remain much higher than previous years and show few signs of abating. Higher prices have pushed many more people into poverty, but the increase in the number of poor is only part of the emerging costs of the crisis. The more profound consequence is the impact of rising prices on households who were already poor. For those already struggling to meet their daily food and nutrient needs, the double shock of food and fuel price rises represents a threat to basic survival

Culture

In the activity in which you gave us to choose 5 options there was one, the one I choose, about Culture. I agreed with all except for the part in which it said that in actual times, culture does not evolve.
I highly disagree with that concept because all of the cultures change or in other words evolves. Our culture is not the same of 100 years ago so the culture does change, not completely but it does.

And at first I agreed with the comment but when I gave it a deeper though I realized that. It is also interesting how does the concept of culture changes, going from a form of agricultur information to a more complex concept that include many aspects of life.

It was interesting also the part that said about the social classes, in some way is true, you have to have money in order to learn somethings but also the statement is false because you are learning culture since you are born because you see your parents and often imitate what they are doing. I think that in a future the concept of culture will change because it has changed through time, so who knows what the concept will include or delete in some years.

Is there a GLOBAL culture?

As we all know the levels of culture are from very specific to general, family-community-historical-global; but during the class about this topic, John Read made a very interesting question, "Is there a global culture?"

While studying for the exam, I asked myself that same question. After researching a little about the topic, I came to my own conclusions. On one side, I think that there is a global culture, but on the other I think that there might not be one.

I think that it does exist because, well, we are all humans and we all have certain characteristics that make us a "culture", we care for the same things, worry for the same things, have the same necesities, but while I was thinking about this, I remembered that a culture is not only caring, worrying and needing the same things; it is formed by a lot more elements, like: the symbols, language, values, etc.. and all the other things we discussed at the class. As I remembered this, I thought well, there might not be a global culture. Why? Because well, we do not share all this things globally. There are A LOT more things that make up a culture and globally we do not share it. We all have a different way of seeing things (cultural relativism). For us something might be good, while for another country it might be really bad. We might agree in things but we are COMPLETELY different in a lot of senses.

Obama criticizes Ugandan anti-gay bill at prayer breakfast

I know that my previous aportation to this blog was also about U.S. President Barack Obama, but I just founded a new article that was interesting to comment, and curiously, Obama was involved.

President Obama on Thursday strongly criticized controversial anti-homosexuality legislation being considered by Uganda's legislature. I am not a person who likes to criticize other people beliefs or sexual preference, but I have always said that gay couples are a lack of respect to society.

According to President Obama declaration it is "unconscionable to target gays or lesbians for who they are". It is not fair to judge people for their likings, gay people have the right of hanging out with a person of their same sex, but, why simple don't do it in a private place?

They (gays) now that they could be strongly attacked with negative commentaries and maybe physical aggressions, so I don't get why they keep showing their affection in public places. Like I said before, everyone has the right of getting in society, is part of our nature and it will be unacceptable to reject someone.

But society for some reason has not accept yet gay people, so here comes my question again: Why they still keep going out to the streets where hundreds of people can watch and insult them?

Kowing How to Identify Priorities

We as a society need to start learning how to make and identify our personal and common priorities. For example, regarding to the accident happened days before to one of the most important football players of Mexico and the America Football Club, Salvador Cabañas, we know that he received a gun shot on the head by a strange guy with actually no “good” reason. The football player was just having some fun in this local bar. It is said that the culprit pulled the trigger of his gun just because Cabañas challenged him making him really mad telling him that he was not able to do it, but indeed he was… Salvador Cabañas was at death’s door for a while. Thanks God he is no more in danger, and he declares that he will be as soon as possible playing at the court.

But… what about Haiti? Haven’t you think about it a little? Everything here is important, BUT one thing is much more important than the other one. Suppose that the accident that happened to the football player is really bad for his family members, friends and fans, but all those people who died in Haiti and those ones without a home, without something to eat, without family… WHAT?

We noticed of the natural disaster that destroyed Haiti much before than the accident of Salvador Cabañas. Right away, when the gun shot was published in newspapers and television, the Haiti disgrace was forgotten, not entirely, but it had no more the same impact, or the impact that this notice deserves in our society. This situation is shameful for us as a solidarity society.

So… now what? Just think about it people…

Global Problem: Illiteracy

We are lucky to recieve education on a private school since kindergarten, but not everyone has that privilege. Families with economic problems are less likely to attend to school and fulfill necessary education. Some kids, teenagers, adults don't attend to school either because they habe to work to support their families or they just are not aware of illiteracy and how this affects a person totally for the rest of their lifes. We might see computer as one of our day to day machines that helps us out on out daily activities, but there are people who don't even know how to use it, because they have never had access to one. This problem shouldn't be happening, I think that even if people are working to keep up with the economy they should still be able to attend to school. Public schools are the best way to solve this problem, but still I believe people aren't able to buy school materials like pencils, pens, notebooks, books, etc. I suggest this should be provided by the government. The government should be able to take illiteracy as a serious problem, because our generation is the future. I also believe there is no certain age for education, even adults who didn't recieve a full education should be able to have access to it. It's never too late to learn something new, maybe you could be someone who will mark a difference in society.

Water rationing?

An important problem that we have been facing in Hermosillo is the water rationing. Although our state has ocean we don’t have the technology to use saltwater, so water is scarce due to the lack of rain. The government to solve this problem has come with the idea of water rationing.

I think that this is a bad idea because the only moment when people don’t use water is in the night, and in some parts of the city they do this water rationing at night. Also, I think that this is a bad idea because people get prepared with water before they ration it, so they use the same amount of water. In the only case that I would be in favor with water rationing is when there are licks, and water is being misused. Besides, I don’t think thayt this is an alternative that could work. They should get new ideas, maybe they could get alliances with other states to give them water.

Looking For Water

Had the future already reached us? This is a question I always ask when I forget that at 11 p.m. I don't have water anymore at home at that hour. The cistern of my house isn't woriking so well, so I have to watch out the clock and be sure to finish all the things I have to do with water before 11 p.m. reaches me. That's when I started really appreciating this valuable resource. Do we always have to loss something in order to appreciate it? I think the answer is yes, especially vital resources that have a lot of uses. I really miss the times when I always count on water to be there for me whenever I want. Sadly, the mistreatment of it and the location of this city doesn't help the situation. It's really uncomfrtable to really go this extent. I think that the previous authorities didn't really think of this issue, and now it's very easy to them to apply this measurements so everyone can have access to it. Can the lack of rains in this little city be related to the whole global warming issue out there? Maybe it is. This can only be the beginning of the climate change chaos, if we continue on the same path. And, I can recall, we depend hugely in this resource. But, can we do something to help the situation or do we have to wait for the government to do something? I think that at least we can treat better this type of vital resources. Just use the quantity that is needed. There are some tips we can all follow. For example, water the plants and grass at night avoids the water from being evaporated so quickly, especially with the intense heat we get in the summer. Another problem I found is that if we only get from 6-14 hours of water a day, should we pay less for it? I think that no. I always have thought that electricity costs are very high compared to the cheap facture we receive of the water. I think we should pay it backwards. Water is clearly more important than electricity. First of all, we can live without it! Electricity has also its importance, but let's wait some time in order to see our priorities with the effects this will cause. Also, the city of Hermosillo is growing very quickly. How can we assure this resource if the city is expanding each day? Not only the goverment should do something, even though they "promised" water; but we, as part of this community, beware of the use we give to the water. We souldn't play with nature. I hope we don't finish buying bottled water to take a bath, watch dishes, water plants, personal hygiene, etc.

Can people ascend in social classes?

Poverty is a problem society has been facing during many years. The reasons of this are due to lack of education, people don’t get prepared, and people don’t care so they continue living the same way. After analyzing this I got the question, can people ascend in social classes? Some people say that if you are born in a poor family you are going to stay poor for your entire life because you will have to work since a very young age and you won’t study. But I think that people, if they want to, can ascend in social classes, can work in whatever profession they want and they can make themselves a better person.

I think that there won’t be any limits to him or her. They can take opportunities and if kids need to work they can balance their school hours with work. If education is the problem they can go to public schools or get a scholarship. I think that if everyones starts studying and having goals the economy of the country will increase. There are millions of things you can do to be better. So I think that that thought of being always poor is false. People can be whatever they want to!

Women´s Identity

Last days, I was looking at the newspapers and I noticed that most women were named like this: "Mrs. María de Perez", Mrs. Ana de Lopez and so on. And, I asked myself, where did her real surname go? Are they property of their husbands? Some told me it was a custom. But, why do women have to do this, why not man? Why a man cannot be named, Mr. Luis de García?

I think women can do it better (I do not mean better than men, I believe in gender equality but better than they are doing today).

What are these all Mrs. de Lopez going to do when Mr. Lopez die, or runaway? They are going to be NOBODY. Ah, I am wrong, they are going to became the widow of Mr. Lopez.

So, women must keep their names, even after marriage. They must make an identity and work it throught the years and finally, make it an important name so people can say, 'Ah, I remember Ana Ruiz, she was an extraordinary women', not 'Ah, I remember Mr. Garcia's wife, she was a very good person'.

Crime and Its Impact in Society

We all know what is crime, and we are living it all days. Every day in the newspaper there is something about it.

Crime affects us in some way, because of crime hey are making new laws to “protect us”.

Even the minor crime. For example shoplift, if a person shoplift the store has to pay that product that he stole, son in order to pay they need to raise the prices and they loose a lot of money. Just imagine that a person shoplifts something of $20 and if you multiply it for 52 weeks that a year has is $728,000 lost every year. It’s a lot of money and we are paying for it and we even noticed it! And imagine that there are more of the same stores it’s even more money. So, stores install cameras and stuff like that, but it isn’t cheap. And we are paying all of this in the higher prices.

But also we pay for the criminal, because it is expensive to maintain them in jail. They need clothes food, etc. In 2007 a newspaper reported that the average annual cost of housing prison inmates in the California prison system was $43,287 per inmate!

And we pay for it like in higher prices for clothes, food and in taxes to maintain criminals at jail. I don’t think that this is fair we are paying for something that isn’t our fault.

Young boys don’t care aboutdeath, only for some money

Now a days the drug dealling and drug trafficking is so common in Mexico that most of the young lower class admire it, and wants to be a drug dealler, eaven if they know that they will be killed in some time.
This is an important situation because, they prefer some years of money, cars and all that stuff and then die, than being in the low class or study to have an honest work.
That’s one of the main reasons of why Drugg trafficking is getting bigger and bigger every day. But the main question is how will the government will fight with these ideas that are the main base of this problem, because even if they capture all the drug deallers or kill’em all there will be always new of them. In my opinion, first of all we have to make those young guys succed in education so they can have honest works.

Global Problem: Water Scarcity

Water, the most important resource for every living thing, without water, we would be dead in just a couple of days. It seems that most of us don't really realize what would be if water would disappear one day, or not to go too far, the day when water wouldn't be enough for all of us. I know that there are alot of campaings that are promoting the care of water, and people might see it everywhere, might hear it form everyone, but really, are we doing something about this issue? Just a few of us that are coincious of water scarcity won't make a huge differece, we need to promote this issue and make people decide their future for themselves and upcoming generations. We need to be less selfish, people might be dying of dehydration at the same time that others are taking half an hour baths. We need results, we need to act, do something about this issue, not let it pass and act as we care when we really don't show it with our actions. In simple everyday duties, you can make an effort on not wasting water. Take 5 minute baths, use a cup of water to wash your teeth, use a bucket to wash your car you don't really need much water to fulfill this duties. We share our world, and people from all places should be recieving the necessary amount of water they need, which they are not. Let's do something about it, spread these words to become actions.

Global Culture?

The question was brought up. Is there a global Culture?

I think that the answer to that question is "yes". I think we have all kinds of cultures, depending of where you live, but there is also a global culture, that keeps all of us united. We, all human beings, have certain things in common. We all want the best for our world, eventough there are wars, between nations, pollution nad thing like that, I think really deep down, all of us don't want to end our lives in this planet. As long as we share that characteristic, I think there is a global cullture.

Hybrid Vehicles, Negative Environmental Impact Reduction and Other Important Facts

Hybrid vehicles use less gas and for every gallon of gasoline that they use pumps 20 pounds of CO2, so this cut down the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere and the exesive use of gasoline.

This cars use many types of energy but the main energy source is the electric battery that makes no CO2 emissions.

The problem with these cars is the the car’s lifetime depends on the battety’s lifetime, and the replacements for those batteries are so expensive, but the main problem is that they will be difficult to safely recycle them and this is an environmental inpact.

Now Toyota is improving new batteries technology that can have a longer lifetime and will be easier to recycle.

Unsafety Streets in Sonora

Last month, some of the local newspapers around the state of Sonora published some notes about the unfortunate events that had disturbed the calm of the citizens. There were several explosive artifacts (granades) that were thrown by unknown persons to four different cities in our state, Oregon, Navojoa, Hermosillo, and Cananea.

The first attacks were registered in Obregon. Five fragmentation granades were thrown against government buildings. Fortunately there were no injured people registrated.

After these attacks to the city of Obregon, more attacks resulted in other cities. In Navojoa there were two fragmentation granades that exploded in a restaurant and in a gas station. In the capital, Hermosillo, there were two granades thrown to the principal entrance of the PGJE, but only one exploded. In Cananea, there were three explosives thrown, two against banks and one against a gas station, but only one of the three granades exploded.

It is believed that the responsibles for these attacks chosed that locations because of the amount of people that attend there. The more damage they cause, the more panic they would produce among the people. It is also said that this attacks are in response to the new governor, Guillermo Padres, because of the “war” that he has started against drug trafficking.

It is not fair that innocent citizens suffer the consequences of the acts of revenge of the drug dealers. I am not against what the new governor says and imposes refering to the dug trafficking subject, but it is not correct to recall all of his ideas for punishing this crime in public because this sort of things could happen. Criminals take revenge against innocent people to demonstrate that they are more powerful and willing to do whatever it takes in order to continue with their trafficking. It is worth saying that we should all take some precautions, more than usual. There is now no safe place anywhere. TAKE CARE AND BE CAREFUL!

"Global Culture Is Here"

I read Naiomi's post about Global Culture, and i found the topic interesting; while I agree with her up to certain point, I think global culture does exists in a certain way. We all identify ourselves as human, we share the same worries (like global warming and oil scarcity), we all have the same basic needs, we all look for our ways to make our life easier (and those solutions reach almost everywhere thanks to globalization), etc.

It is as the recognized psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa says: human nature an behavior isn't infinitely malleable, there are several points of global agreement.

I know culture is much more that what I mentioned above; it includes languages, traditions, values, etc. just as Naiomi mentioned, and for the study of economics and politics we cannot take this approach, but it might be interesting that if we look at it in a more general way, we may find that global culture exists as human culture.

This page could explain with more details what this post is about.

The Impact of Facebook in Society

IS IT "BAD" OR "GOOD" FOR US?
Since Facebook was created in 2004 it had become a phenomenon for the social networking and society itself. The impact that Facebook created is that it allows people who probably never would have met each other to communicate, it creates new relationships and friendships, and it places distance between people who could communicate in person but instead choose to communicate online, instead. It is just another element of society that is interested in sharing infomartion.

Facebook has a good and a bad impact for society. The good impact is the one that it allows people from different sides of the globe to communicate in an easier way and express their feelings and form of life in a more open way. Instead many researchers categorize Facebook as "bad" for our society. Since many people is showing many important and personal information it had lead to many kidnappings and robbery. So be aware of who you accept as a friend and to whom you share your information.

UNICEF and DIF's in Haiti

Recently, with the natural disaster that took place in Haiti, many people started to adopt children in Haiti, but is this correct?

Accordig to UNICEF and DIF (Mexico), people must wait. These institutions recognize that adpoting a child is a very noble action, but we must look forward to their well being before anything. These children have been through many awful things; they probably lost their parents, siblings, school and home. They are still in shock. So, UNICEF and DIF agree that first of all, they must be taken to a safe place, with food, clothes, vaccines or any other thing needed. It is necessary to put their rights above all. Moreover, adoption processes cannot be taken as regular since people who do this and their bulidings are not available, and this can lead to children trade and make the situation worse. Taking the children will not help, because many still have parents who are looking for them.

If people really want to help, they can provide with food, clothes and money, but adopting a children, is not a good option yet. We must keep in mind that these children are still going through a hard situation and that it is not fair to just take them away.

Apple May Address iPhone File Frustrations

Apple May Address iPhone File Frustrations iPhone OS 3.2 -- running on the iPad -- accommodates third-party file-sharing as developers have sought.

Everybody grouses about the lack of multitasking for third-party apps on the iPhone (and iPad). But another limitation of the current platform is at least as limiting: The data sandboxing files that hobbles third-party apps' ability to move files on and off the iPhone or share them with other applications.Today, there's both bad news and good news on this front. Bad news: Apple made e-book reader Stanza (owned by Amazon.com) remove a feature for transferring books via USB, on the grounds that it violated the iPhone developer agreement.Good news: Ars Technica is reporting that iPhone OS 3.2, the version on the iPad, has a shared-storage folder that's accessible to third-party apps -- including computer apps that can see the folder when the iPhone is attached via USB. If that shows up on the iPhone (which it presumably will) it'll go a significant way towards reducing the every-app-is-an-island feel that iPhone software tends to have.As long as I'm at it, another request: The iPhone/iPad e-mail clients should allow detaching of attachments into this shared folder, so that applications such as word processors and spreadsheets can get easy access to documents for editing. Maybe this is in iPhone OS 3.2 and I just don't know about it yet -- I'd assume that Apple would want it for the iPad versions of the iWork apps, and it would be a major bummer if Apple apps could get at attachments and other programs couldn't...

Hunger and World Poverty

Poverty means the lack of resources to afford basic human needs. Poverty is a global issue that entire world has been facing a long time ago. Poverty itself causes a lot of other things like hunger. According to the United Nations, about 25,000 people die every day of hunger or hunger-related causes!! And unfortunately most of these people are children. And we know that there is a lot of food around the world, but the problem here is poverty. They don’t have the enough resources to pay for food. And like they don’t have the enough money to pay for food they need to take food from the trash or things like that, so they are malnourished. With this they are more propane to have disease and they are weaker and this enables them to work and they can’t have money. As we can see this is like a cycle all is connected.

There are some programs that try to decrease poverty. For example, there are jobs were they are paid with food by making structures, school, etc.For children there is a program that if they go to school they receive food.

I think that this is good way to make decrease poverty, because if children are having education they can work and also they are having food so they can be nourish and with energy to go to school. And adults are having work and food at the same time. It is a good way that in al the world should be practiced.

Why should homosexual marriage be legal

In the last month, there was a very controvertial topic on the media: Should they legalise gay marriage?Añadir imagen
In my opinion the answer is Yes. Why? Because they are people, just like you and me who love each other, just as any other heterosexual couple. We are supposed to live in a tolerant world that accepts you just as you are. Being homosexual is not wrong, it is not a disease and people should not be ashamed of being. However, currently there are a lot of people saying it is wrong. Why? According to these reluctant to change people, homosexual lifestyle is not healthy and it is just as dangerous as smoking or drinking because 'all' of them are infected by sexual transmitted diseases. This is not true. Both homosexual and homosexual are likely to get infected if they do not use a condom or have only one sexual partner. Being homosexual does not mean being promiscous, they love their couple as much as a man loves a woman and vice versa.

Other reason, which I found very implausible by the way, is that God does not love them and He does not bless these unions. But God is a loving fatoher who loves all his sons, ALL OF THEM no matter what and I think He wants their sons to be happy with to one they love by their side. Actually, Associations of Pshychiatry and Psychology have stated that a homosexual couple is just as stable and committed as a heterosexual couple, and that homosexuality IS NOT A MENTAL DISORDER. These last statement is very important since many people today think it is, but it is just a preference.

Gay marriage should be legalised because they have the right to receive the same benefits, rights, obligations and that a heterosexual married couple receives, such as social, psychological, health and educational. Also, legalising same-sex couples marriage will end up with the social unacceptability and people will become more tolerant and start to accept them in society. Also, hate crimes and violence against lesbian and gay will decrease.
